Raging Stallion Sweeps the 2009 Grabby Awards!

San Francisco, May 26, 2009

Raging Stallion swept the 2009 Grabby Awards, but in a dramatic surprise, this time it was the romantic love story The Drifter that came out on top winning Best Picture of the year. The Drifter garnered four top honors at the event including Best Duo Sex Scene with real life boyfriends Logan McCree and Vinnie D’Angelo, who met on the set of the film. Logan McCree also won for Best Actor, and Tony Dimarco won for Best Videography. This was Tony Dimarco's first major project for Raging Stallion Studios and was filmed in the lush forests of northern California.

Raging Stallion’s To The Last Man, the film the swept the 2009 GAYVN Awards, also walked away with top honors including Scott Tanner for Best Supporting Actor, Damien Crosses for Best Solo, and the hard-core rape scene with Logan McCree, Ricky Sinz and Scott Tanner won Best Three-Way. Directors Chris Ward, Ben Leon and Tony Dimarco did not go unnoticed, winning the coveted Best Director prize for the western epic. Other awards winners that night included Antonio Biaggi for Hottest Cock and Steve Cruz for “Best Porn star Website” stevecruzxxx.com. Steve Cruz was also named one of the Performers of the Year.

Chris Ward, who was vacationing in Vienna when the awards were announced, wired “I’m extremely proud of my team of talented performers and directors. It’s been a great year for us and it shows the all the hard work paid off. I am amazed that we won Best Picture this year for Two different movies! It shows the depth of our quality." This is the first time in gay porn history where one studio has won Best Picture for two different movies in the same year.

The Drifter was a very different film from To The Last Man--whereas the western epic was controversial for its unabashed violence--all but one of the characters are killed in the movie--The Drifter is a romantic love story. The chemistry on the set was excellent and McCree and D'Angelo have just celebrated their one year anniversary as real life boyfriends. They fell in love shooting this film. McCree co-authored the story and said at the time of shooting that the plot of the movie (a guy wandering thru the woods and coming across a cabin with a hot stud inside!) was one of his all time fantasies. In The Drifter, Logan's fantasy actually became his reality!

Raging Stallion Steals the Show with 18 GayVN Wins!

San Francisco porn powerhouse Raging Stallion Studios took all the top prizes at last night's GayVN show. Held in the magnificent Castro Theater, the GayVNs are the Oscars® of the Gay porn world. Raging Stallion actors and crew were singled out for numerous trophies and To The Last Man--the epic western in which all but one of the actors are killed--took more awards than any film in the studio's history, including the coveted Best Picture of the Year.

The top performer awards were a clean sweep for the studio with Logan McCree being named Performer of the Year. Raging Stallion has won this top prize for five of the past 6 years. Ricky Sinz was named Best Actor and Scott Tanner was named Best Supporting Actor. Sinz, Tanner, and McCree also won Best Three Way for the violent and disturbing rape scene at the end of To The Last Man. McCree shared the Best Sex Scene trophy with his real life partner, Vinnie D'Angelo, for their passionate performance in The Drifter. Sinz also won Best Oral Scene for his paring with Jackson Wild in To the Last Man. To fully fill his personal bag of awards, Sinz was also named Best Top. Sinz was the top award winner last year for his work in GRUNTS, and he took home more personal trophies this year than any other performer in GayVN history. He is the current Raging Stallion Studio's Man Of The Year.

Team Raging Stallion swept the production and studio awards as well, with Ben Leon, Tony Dimarco, and Chris Ward sharing the prizes of Best Director and Best Editor for To The Last Man, which as noted above, was also named Best Picture of the Year. To The Last Man also took awards for Best Art Direction, Best Music, Best Screenplay, Best Videography, Best DVD Special Edition, and Best DVD Special Features.

JD Slater's Centurion Muscle 5 won in the Best Bear Category, an award shared with Co-Director Jake Deckard. Slater also shared the Best Music Award with Nekked for the dramatic score for To The Last Man.

Studio president Chris Ward was very pleased by the award wins. "We really made great movies this year and I am proud of our staff and our actors. They earned every award they won. I am especially proud of Ricky Sinz, Scott Tanner, and Logan McCree! I also think that I am a lucky man to be working with Ben Leon and Tony Dimarco--these are the top directors in our industry today." Ward also commented on the entire weekend, a series of events organized by Naked Sword: "Tim Valenti and his staff went all out and created, in my view, the finest GayVN weekend in recent memory. They managed to turn the entire Castro into a huge street party, they sold out the Castro Theater, and put on an after party that had 2,000 people still waiting in line to get in! Frankly, I was astounded at how well the entire weekend shaped up. This weekend was clearly one of the high points of my own professional career and to be part of it was a great honor."

Over the past week Raging Stallion signed five new exclusives and hired a major director (who has won dozens of GayVN awards over the past ten years) to join the staff as part of its post-AEBN merger expansion. Announcements will be made in the coming weeks with details on these new hires.

Raging Stallion Takes Record Number of Grabby Nominations

Raging Stallion Studios took a record number of nominations for the upcoming Grabby Awards, garnering 41 nominations in 23 categories. This is a Grabby Award record. The studio received multiple nods in most major categories, which means that Raging Stallion films and actors will be competing with each other for top prizes. To The Last Man and The Drifter received half a dozen or more nominations, with both movies being nominated for Best Actor, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Picture. Fetish films such as Sounding #1 and Fistpack 16: Hand it Over are competing against each other in the extreme sex categories. Hotter than Hell Part 2 and Jock Itch #2 were also singled out for nominations.

The competition for Best Actor pits Chicago's Ricky Sinz (To The Last Man) against Logan McCree. Both men are Raging Stallion exclusives and both delivered excellent performances in their respective movies. The supporting actor category is another To The Last Man vs The Drifter match up with Scott Tanner (TLM) competing against Vinnie D'Angelo. In the Best Director's category, its Ben Leon and Tony Dimarco (the Drifter) against Ben Leon, Tony Dimarco and Chris Ward (To the Last Man). Incredibly, three Raging Stallion exclusives are in the running for Performer of the year: Ricky Sinz, Scott Tanner, and Steve Cruz. Cruz is also Naked Sword's current Man of the Year.

"I have always loved the Grabbys," said studio president Chris Ward. "Stacy, Mark, and the whole Grabby Gang have always been kind to Raging Stallion--I think guys in Chicago really click with our kind of film making. Big Daddy Ferguson was one of my early supporters and I am really delighted that the Grabbys have continued to play a role in our industry even though he is no longer with us." When asked about having multiple nominations for many categories, Ward realized that there was a possibility of having the Raging Stallion vote split, Even so, he was pleased with the nominations. "The number of nominations shows the real depth of quality in our films. As a studio, we are really on a roll and all of us, staff, actors....everyone--work very hard to product erotica that people enjoy watching. We are all very happy to receive this kind of industry recognition."

With a significant degree of overlap, Raging Stallion's Grabby nominations mirror the recent GayVN nominations earned by the studio. The Drifter, however, did receive more Grabby nominations than it did at the GayVNS. Raging Stallion recently won the XBIZ awards for best Picture (To The Last Man) and Best Director (Chris Ward, Ben Leon, and Tony Dimarco).
